Resort: Amanpulo

Amanpulo (which means 'peaceful island') is a premiere hotel resort here in the Philippines. and one of the best in the world. set on a secluded, private island. Pamalican is part of the Quinilubangroup, which makes up the northern half of the Cuyo Islands and is one of nearly 1,800 islands in Palawan, the largest province in the Philippines. A low-lying coral island, Pamalican is rimmed by seven square kilometres of pristine reef. the island is private property and belongs in totality to the resort. It is part of the high-end Aman group of resorts, under the name Amanpulo . and because its a very high-end resort it has been rumored that oprah and other powerfull people around the world go here to experienced the peace of the island. and this is not a rumor mariah carey have spent her vacation here after her concert in manila and before heading to hong kong. well i hope i didn't get you intimidated but expect to ditch out some big molla if you are planning a vacation in amanpulo as its cheapest Tree Top Casitas rates between 500 to 700 US$. depends on the season. The resort’s 40 casitas (65-square-metre cottages in hillside and beachfront settings) are modelled after the Philippine bahay kubo (native dwelling). Inside, decorative details pay homage to neighbouring islands: pebble-washed walls, coconut-shell tables, rustic Palawan rice and knife baskets, a king-size bed with a rattan headboard and sliding-glass doors that reveal outdoor decks with his-and-her divans. Nearly half the space in a casita is given over to a Cebu-marble bathroom, with twin vanities, separate changing areas, a shower and an elegant bathtub. All rooms have satellite TV and CD players. DVDs can be supplied upon request. facilities includes Restaurants,Swimming Pool,Library,Boutique and Galleries,Tennis,Gym,Massage and Beauty Services,Lagoon Retreat, it also offers numerous water activities such as jet ski,windsurfin and many more. it is a a romantic getaway with abundant sun, sand and surf. While some guests might prefer to laze and bask in sunshine and tranquillity, the rich marine waters and surrounding reef provide a host of adventurous options from diving and windsurfing to snorkeling and fishing. There are trained staff on hand to ensure visitors have a safe and rewarding experience. so if you are ready to throw some big cash here in the Philippines AMANPULO is for you to check out.

Getting There:

Amanpulo is accessed by scheduled charter flight from Manila, which has flights to several major international destinations. Guests are met at Manila's international airport and taken by complimentary transfer to the Amanpulo lounge, adjacent to the departure point. Transfers and flight vouchers are all arranged by Amanpulo staff. Guests fly directly to Pamalican Island in a 19-seat, twin-engine turboprop, landing at the resort’s private airstrip.

The cost of the round trip air transfer, Manila-Amanpulo-Manila, is US$325 per adult. The fare for children under seven is US$175, while infants under two years are charged US$55. Baggage is limited to 20kg per adult, including carry-on luggage.

Menu: Adobo

Filipino's are known in the world as great cooks in fact President Bush and Oprah's Private Chef are Filipino. that just prove that Filipino have a great sense of taste. and one of the famous filipino dish is "Adobo"perhaps, is the most popular and most distinguished among all Filipino cuisines. It has been made reference to in the movie American Adobo and been mention in Black Eyed Peas Song "Bebot" it is a favorite among Filipino food. and among my favorite food too. just like pasta there are varieties of ways on how to cook adobo The most widely preferred traditionally is pork adobo, followed by chicken adobo-- although chicken adobo is very popular these days for health reasons. Other ingredients such as squid, beef, lamb, game fowl like quail and snipe, catfish, okra, eggplant, string beans, and water spinach (kangkong) are also made into adobo, so if you haven't tried adobo yet go to your nearest Filipino Restaurant or go here in the Philippines to give it a try and i guarantee you will not regret it. anyway if its impossible for you to visit Philippines and the Filipino restaurants is miles away from you. just do it on your own as it is very easy to cook. here is the recipe on how to cook your very own adobo.

How To Cook

Dry Adobo

  * 1/2 kilo pork or chicken, cut in cubes for pork and cut in
pieces if chicken
* 1 head garlic, crushed
* 1 cup soy sauce
* 1 cup vinegar
* 2 cups of water
* 5 laurel leaves (bay leaves)
* 4 tablespoons of cooking oil or olive oil
* Whole Peppercorns
* Ginger (if cooking chicken or with chicken)

* Combine all ingredients in a pot.
* Let it simmer and boil until almost all the water is gone.
If you did not trim the fat off the pork, let the natural
oils of off it come out. You may add some cooking oil or
olive oil if there isn't enough to fry the meat.
* The meat will be very tender so be careful mixing it while
letting it fry on its own fat (or added oil) so the meat
doesn't fall apart or break.
* Viola! It's done!!! Enjoying your adobo with rice and fresh
tomatoes (optional).

Destination: Siquijor

Who is up for some adventure? well this is not a usual adventure such as diving and rock climbing not even wakeboarding and bunjee jumping. hmmmm its more of a SuperNatural Adventure yeah you heard it right SuperNatural Adventure. and what kind of SuperNatural Adventure? well in this destination we are going to Explore Siquijor The Mystic Island Of The Philippines. filipinos call it mystic for it is so mysterious many believe that black magic truly exist in the island not only that it is also believe that the island is home to "ASWANG" filipinos equivalent to Dracula,Vampire or Monster. but i tell you "ASWANG" is more interesting as they are human in the morning and can be a snake,pig,cat,dog or whatever animal she/he wants to be for the night. they say there are some "MANANANGAL""HALF BODY ASWANG" haunting the island. and others creature of the unknown. well filipinos have never run out of fictional stories and characters. and many still believe in this Supernatural Creatures. even now that we are in the digital age Supernatural is always a part of filipino culture. would you believe that Aswang's is Digital nowadyas too? hehe anyway maybe you are wondering why im telling you this scary stories about siquijor? u might dont wanna go there anymore, hehe well these are all Supernatural Beliefs there are no known Facts if this really happens. u can believe it or not. But Siquijor is not all about Aswang the island is as normal as like the many other island in the Philippines.Beautiful and Truly Wonderful. white sandy beaches,unexplored caves,breathtaking mountain views and waterfalls and great diving sites are just few of the many things Siquijor can offer aside from its Mytical Stories. so u up For the Adventure or are you Scared now?

LOCATION:

Siquijor is the southern most island in the Visayan Island group in the Philippines. It is about 3O kilometers southeast of Negros Island and about 5O kilometers from the closest point of northwestern Mindanao. It is separated from the other islands by the Tañon Strait on the northwest, the Sulu Sea on the southwest and the Mindanao Sea on the South. The topography is hilly but it is also surrounded by stretches of white sandy shorelines.

GETTING THERE:
From Manila, scheduled airlines fly to Cebu City and Dumaguete City, where transfers to inter-island ferries can be arranged. There are three seaports on the island. Smaller commercial ships use the port on the towns of Lazi and Larena. These ports are the main trunklines for travelers to and from the neighboring islands of Negros, Bohol, Cebu and northwestern Mindanao. The third port, on the town of Siquijor, is used mainly for motorized outriggers and launches that ferry daily to and from Dumaguete City on the island of Negros.
Air travel by small aircrafts can be arranged at Cang-alwang Airport, about 4 kilometers from downtown Siquijor. There are no regularly scheduled flights to and from Siquijor but a charter can be arranged from the neighboring islands.

Here is one place you shouldnt have to miss when u go to Siquijor. spooky eh!

"BLACK MAGIC MARY" Siquijor Island is one spooky place. It's

riddled with abandoned churches and unexplored caves and known throughout the Philippines for its black magic and mangkukulam, or traditional healers. The real hair-raiser is a statue of the Virgin Mary in the village of Maria , a winding 15-km drive through the mountains from the main port of Larena. In her right hand she clutches a skull and in her left an inverted crucifix. Leave before dark. it is really a place to check out well this one makes me really scared but just get me more curios about the island its just one thing for sure now im not getting my booty there ALONE.
