The New York Times have release its 44 places to go in 2009 last month and our fabulous island of boracay was one of the places to visit this year. Im happy that our boracay made it its just the description bein compare it to phuket makes me kinda sad. well its not bad to be compared to phuket it is one of the top destination in the world after all but i think boracay has its charm and phuket has it so the two great island should not be compared. boracay is one of god's best gift to the filipino people so i hope we will continue to love and preserve it.
anyway here is the post in the new york times website.

Hi Travelphilippines! Fair enough; in 2008, Lisbon was #2, and you missed it... ;))
So, everybody was busy with Valentine’s Day, nobody paid attention to Rajasthan? Great mistake... ;))
Have a great Sunday!!

thanks for the information. Boracay is one of the great beaches in the world but one thing i like their is the people in their specially at night(party time till dawn) its great!
The Philippines should really be the tourist hub of Asia. With the never ending stories of great destinations, truly its one of a kind. I hope the government and the people would support tourism more for both local and foreign travelers.

Last year I went to Phillipines, and this year I am planning to visit Singapore. This time I am getting hotel rooms in Singapore as low as SGD88. This is because of the new Asia Pacific “City Super Sale” offer by Accor Group.. why not check out http://tinyurl.com/n5lnku to get some high discounts on booking between 23rd and 29th July?
Wow that's nice. In my opinion, the Philippines has one of the best (if not the best) beaches in the world :D
That's good news! Mabuhay to us!
You idiot. You better feel honored that you're being compared to Phuket. Phuket is way way better than Boracay. It's also so much cleaner. It has better facilities and the employees are so much more friendly. It makes over-priced resorts seem worth it.
Thanks for the info. I'd go in all these places, if I could.
Interesting text. You have a nice blog. Keep it up!
Nice blog...very informative...
You can only travel to these places if you speak very well a foreign language. For example, if you can't handle the English vocabulary, you don't stand a chance.
I don't have the money yet, but for now, I bought the guide books for all the countries I plan to visit in the future.
I found this great review that lists the 10 best restaurants in the Philippines… I’ve been to many of them and the food was incredible! Check out the review here: http://www.petaasiapacific.com/action-alerts-item.asp?id=2307&c=pappvrpro
